"Creating Sanctuary" Photo Essay
statement
In our busy, fast-paced culture, people are afforded little sanctuary from the stress, demands and routines of everyday life. Without periods of sanctuary, physical and mental well-being are known to suffer.
How do you tune out? How do you clear your head? How do you escape? How do you rejuvenate yourself? How to you create something that is truly your own? Is it through a passionate interest, creating art, indulging in vices or carnal pleasures, fight club, other rituals?
I'm an artist working on a photo essay that explores these questions. I'd like to talk to you about photographing you doing whatever it is you do. Sedate, boisterous, virtuous, indulgent, in the mainstream, or on the fringe -- anything goes. There's no need to filter yourself; you can be as anonymous as you want. In exchange for your generous participation, I'll give you a photograph.
Let's collaborate and create some art.
